Kaeden Kass MSW, LISW
Hi, I’m Kaeden (he/him/his)! I am a licensed social worker in the states of Ohio (LISW) and Kentucky (CSW), where I specialize in providing friendly, warm, and culturally humble therapeutic services to teens (ages 15+) and adults. I am passionate about caring for people struggling with difficulties related to existing as a neurodivergent person in this world, such as demand avoidance (PDA), rejection sensitivity (RSD), and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
As a queer, trans, neurodivergent, and disabled person myself, I know what it's like to walk through the world in a marginalized body, and I know what it's like to feel like you’re always on the outside looking in. My therapeutic approach is rooted in vulnerability, collaboration, transparency, and self-determination, and I am passionate about creating spaces where people with marginalized identities and experiences can feel seen and understood. I am a steadfast believer in the healing power of human connection, and my goal as a therapist is to provide the opportunity to share whatever hardships you’re experiencing or goals you’re working toward, and always be met with compassion, empathy, and a sense of unconditional support. Further, I believe that every person is the expert in their own experience, and as a therapist, I will never tell you that your beliefs, identities, or experiences are wrong. Rather, I will always meet you exactly where you are and work with you to find the answers that truly work for your life.
My work is strongly grounded in social justice, and I strive at all times to work from a health equity-based, trauma informed, anti-racist, sex-positive, and fat-positive framework that recognizes the impacts of systemic inequality and medical gatekeeping. I don’t shy away from talking about these “difficult” topics, and in fact, the opportunity to create safe spaces to talk about otherwise “taboo” topics is one of the things I love most about my work.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you can often find me cozied under a blanket with my retired greyhounds Pumpkin and Truffle, singing with my acapella band, or binge-watching The Bachelor (don’t judge me) with my husband.
If you have struggled in the past to find a mental health provider with whom you can be your full authentic self, I might be a good fit for you! If you think you might like to work with me, reach out via the contact page. I am happy to answer any questions you have via e-mail, and I also offer free 15-minute phone consultations so you can make sure that I’m the right therapist for you.
